When will I receive the books I have ordered?

Our aim is to post your books within 5 working days of your order being received. Orders are posted using Royal Mail, or occasionally myHermes for orders over 2kg within the United Kingdom.  You should receive your books within the timescales outlined in the table below.

From time to time when the postal service is particularly busy you may experience delays. In the unfortunate event that your books are lost in transit, please be mindful that we have to allow 14 working days before we are able to start tracing lost parcels. We are sorry for any inconvenience a delayed parcel may cause.

What do the codes mean for ‘Condition’ of the books listed?

New – A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.

Mint (M) – A book that has been read, but looks new. The book cover has no visible wear, and the dust wrapper (if applicable) is included for hard covers. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. May have no identifying marks on the inside cover. No wear and tear.

Very good (VG) – A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition. No obvious damage to the book cover, with the dust wrapper (if applicable) included for hard covers. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Some identifying marks on the inside cover, but this is minimal. Very little wear and tear.

Good – A book that has been read, but is in good condition. Minimal damage to the book cover e.g. scuff marks, but no holes or tears. If this is a hard cover, the dust wrapper may be missing. Binding has minimal wear. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. No highlighting of text, no writing in the margins, and no missing pages.

Dust wrapped (DW) – detachable outer cover, typically made of paper and printed with text and illustrations. This outer cover has folded flaps that hold it to the front and back book covers. In addition to its promotional role, the dust wrapper protects the book’s cover from damage.
